Media training

Helping your business get its messages across

Whether looking to handle a potential crisis, promote good news or merely establish themselves as the authoritative mouthpiece for their industry, a growing number of companies have realised they can no longer leave their dealings with the media to chance. Being properly trained is essential.

At Reel Good Training we offer a highly personalised service that ensures you receive media training that accurately reflects the specific needs of your organisation. Our training packages are practical-based, meaning that you learn from actually tackling interviews rather than relying on someone merely explaining the theory behind facing journalists.

Our team liaises with clients ahead of each training session, to enable a series of realistic scenarios to be created. These detailed storylines are then used during a series of one-to-one interviews, to ensure that the questioning you receive during the training day mirrors what you could expect when facing the media for real.

We ensure that the scenarios used during the day cover both positive and negative topics, so trainees learn how to "sell" good news to the media but also how to minimise potential embarrassments when something goes wrong.

In addition, we provide detailed guidance and feedback throughout the day, for example offering information on the structure of the UK media, what a journalist will be seeking from the interview – and how you should answer the most difficult of questions.

Each interview is followed by detailed feedback on where you went wrong... and what you got right. Trainees receive tips on how they should look for TV interviews, what they should say to journalists and what topics they should avoid. Each trainee's performance is also appraised in a confidential memo sent to the company after the day is over.

We also firmly believe that training should be fun, so we'll aim to make sure you get the message – and enjoy the day.
